Sarasota FL: Loftus Law and Leslie Wulfsohn Loftus, Esq. are pleased to announce that Lindsay Turner, Esq. has joined the firm as an associate. Lindsay is a cum laude graduate, both of the University of Florida and the Stetson University College of Law. While at Stetson, Lindsay was an editor on the Stetson Law Review. Her student article was published in the Stetson Law Review in the Fall of 2013. During her years at Stetson, Lindsay volunteered with the Sixth Circuit Office of the Public Defender and worked as a Summer Associate for Kirk-Pinkerton, P.A. She was the recipient of the William F. Blews Pro Bono Service Award for volunteer work while at Stetson.

Lindsay passed the Florida Bar in October 2013 and worked as a Staff Attorney for the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court. Her primary duties as part of the Sixth Circuit were assisting the judges assigned to the criminal division, the court counsel, and the Chief Judge. Following the 2016 birth of her daughter, Lindsay determined to turn her career in the direction of family law to help people navigate the legal system when they are dealing with family law challenges. Lindsay’s addition provides more depth and will allow the Firm to become more involved in select areas of family law practice such as adoptions, chapter 39 dependency proceedings, and domestic violence injunctions.

The Sarasota divorce attorney, Leslie Wulfsohn Loftus, recently finished her second term on the 12th Judicial Circuit's Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee. The original term dates from December of 2010. For her service with the Court, Leslie is the recipient of a Certificate of Meritorious Service.

Florida is a no-fault divorce state, which means that if one of the parties files the necessary petition, the other party cannot stop the divorce. The terminology of “no-fault” doesn't indicate that the process or the law is uncomplicated. The process itself can be confusing and emotionally charged. There can be life-changing issues related to alimony and support, division of assets, timesharing and custody of children, to name a few. The assistance of a qualified lawyer can be critically important to attain desired results. A collaborative divorce may be a less contentious proceeding and both parties are more accepting of the final disposition. Leslie is trained in the collaborative process.
