Costa Rica Based Massage School Expands Continuing Education Options

The Costa Rica School Of Massage Therapy has recently announced that they are expanding their continuing education options. The school is launching a 100 hour continuing education program for sports massage therapy. This is known as the Motion Mechanic Sports Therapy Certification program and this is set to start in May 2017 and will run for four weeks.

Courtney Krenz with the Costa Rica School Of Massage Therapy says, "We are excited to announce the launch of this new course, which qualifies for the continuing education that massage therapists need to meet their annual requirements."

The school states that the new course will enable massage therapists to expand their own practices and offers them the ability to earn more money. The course is being taught by physical therapy coach Chris Nissler, MS, MAT, CSCS, CAFS, who the school states possesses the certifications and specializations in the field to assist those in the massage therapy industry. Chris is an accomplished manual therapist who has developed his own treatment protocol that will be one of the primary focuses of the Motion Mechanic program. In addition, Chris is one of a select few professionals worldwide who practice a methodology known as “Reconditioning.” Reconditioning is a performance-based injury rehabilitation model.

"With this certification, massage therapists will dramatically improve their assessment and treatment capabilities, while being able to see more patients per day and will have far less stress placed on their bodies; therefore improving their longevity," says Nissler.

Nissler is a strength and conditioning coach as well as a massage therapist who specializes in sports performance and injury rehabilitation. He focuses on reconditioning and has gained advanced education and certifications in his field. He is widely regarded as an expert in his field and has patients that range from top NFL and NBA athletes to those in the NHL, UFC, and the US Olympic Team.

Nissler gained his degrees in Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics and Physical Therapy from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. He also completed post-graduate work in Biomechanics at the University of Oregon and an MBA in Healthcare Administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He maintains certifications in Applied Functional Science as well as Functional Movement Screening, Selective Functional Movement Assessment, Active Release Techniques, and is a Muscle Activation Techniques practitioner. In addition to his clinical certifications, Chris is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine.

The school points out that the new course will expand the options for massage therapists' practice and their ability to earn. Those interested in learning more about Nissler or about the course that will be offered in the spring at the Costa Rica School Of Massage Therapy can visit the school online or learn more about all of the programs that they have available on their Facebook page.
