Medfusion Announces Enhancements to Mobile Patient App

(HIMSS17 #MP36) – Medfusion, a leading provider of patient experience solutions, today announced enhancements to Medfusion Plus, the free mobile app that gives patients one place to securely view all health data for themselves and all family members.

As patients struggle to navigate today’s complex healthcare landscape, they are often challenged by an inability to access their own health information. Medfusion Plus securely gathers appointments, immunization records, lab results and other health-related data so patients can access and share their health information with ease.

The enhancements announced today:

  • Simplify health information sharing with doctors and caregivers. Patients can now easily share health data using either an email address or the physician’s Direct address. Users can also now print their entire health record or portions of their health record right from the app.
  • Increase the number of providers and facility types to which users can connect. Along with thousands of additional providers and health facilities, pharmacies (such as CVS and Walgreen’s) and lab processing firms (such as LabCorp and Quest) are now a part of the Medfusion directory.
  • Make care management easier for the whole family. The app can automatically differentiate between each family member’s health data to ensure that each account profile contains correct, up-to-date information. This feature is especially beneficial for families that visit the same providers or facilities.

Medfusion Plus is HIPAA-compliant and supports HL7’s FHIR standards and can be downloaded through the App Store or Google Play. Medfusion Plus is powered by APIs that enable applications to immediately connect to user medical record data by having the users make the connection.
