Netsmart Demonstrates Connectivity at HIMSS17 Interoperability Showcase™

Netsmartis again participating in The HIMSS Interoperability Showcase™ to demonstrate the real-world use case where provider collaboration supports a patient across the entire care continuum, driving toward true integrated care. According to HIMSS, the Interoperability Showcase displays, in real-time, the exchange and use of data through interoperability profiles and standards that are currently being applied in today’s healthcare ecosystem.

The Interoperability Showcase this year follows Mary Sanderson, a fictional 21-year-old student, through the care continuum and highlights the importance of connected information across multiple care venues. Mary is suspected of opioid abuse following numerous visits to urgent care centers in different cities where she sought treatment for multiple chronic care conditions. The example walks visitors through Mary’s journey and shows how different healthcare IT vendors are sharing vital information to improve patient outcomes.

Netsmart joins MEDITECH, NextGen, eClinicalWorks, Surescripts and Epic in this use case within the interoperability showcase. Often patients receive care from disparate provider networks, which creates a gap in care across multiple care settings. Netsmart, alongside other healthcare IT vendors, are leveraging interoperability tools to bridge the technology gap and provide a longitudinal view of the patient.
