Frederick County Bank announces hire of Harry Weetenkamp as Chief Lending Officer

Weetenkamp has had a long and illustrious career in banking beginning in Baltimore at Provident Bank in the late seventies where he served as a branch manager and then Senior Marketing Officer. In 1987 he developed an impressive loan portfolio as the Assistance Vice President at Elkridge National Bank in Elkridge, MD. Coming to Frederick first in 1996, Harry served First Bank of Frederick as VP/SBA Lending Specialist where he developed a taste for the area. Weetenkamp climbed the ranks at Woodsboro Bank beginning in 1999 as Vice President/Commercial Lender and upon his departure was Senior Vice President/Chief Lending Officer, the role he will now serve with Frederick County Bank.

A graduate of Mount Saint Joseph High School in Baltimore, Weetenkamp went on to earn his B.A. in Business Administration from Loyola College. In 1986 he also completed the Pennsylvania Bankers Association’s Central Atlantic School of Commercial Banking at Bucknell University.

He is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Frederick and a past president and former Board member. He is a former member of the Rotary Club of Columbia Patuxent and is a Paul Harris Fellow.

Although having spent his younger years farther east, Harry is well indoctrinated to the dynamic and unique culture here in Frederick. He graduated from the Frederick County Leadership Program in 1999 and is a member of the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce.

Harry resides in Westminster, MD with Debbie, his wife of twenty-eight years. They have four children ranging from 18 to 25 years of age. Harry has been a member of St. John Catholic Church in Westminster for twenty-three years.
