Merlin is based on a modular, plug-in architecture. Every toolbar button, palette, content view, and administration panel is a separate plug-in, so adding and removing workflow tools is easy. As part of the interface, users may customize their experience by rearranging palette items, open the items they most use, and hide items they do not need.
Video handling just got easier. Users can mark and export video clips with Merlin's browser - no need for a special video editor. Merlin video tools make it easy to search video by annotations or even the spoken word. Find the video fast, then use Merlin to export a clip or frame to your website or social media.
To help companies with collaboration and approval, a new commenting UI was introduced that visually portrays a discussion thread. With Merlin Workflow Engine, email alerts or other actions such as distribution may get triggered based on users' specific comments.
MerlinOne will demonstrate Automated Metadata Enhancement which is currently being piloted by customers. As images are imported into Merlin, an artificial intelligence service analyzes the contents and provides keywords, colors and a memorability ranking which are added into special metadata fields in Merlin.
