The Vortex 850R offers fast and affordable label and barcode printing with variable data, grayscale printing, and full color, high quality images.
Manufactured by Reprographic Technology USA based in Fort Collins, CO, the Vortex 850R gets its speed and print quality from a Memjet fixed print head and dye-based CMYKK ink cartridges. It prints up to 8.5" wide labels at 1600 dpi at 12 inches per second in a single pass. The Vortex 850R is economical to operate, boasting some of the lowest ink costs in the industry.
With its full sized touchscreen display, the Vortex 850R is easy to use. An optional label rewinder allows for roll-to-roll printing while variable data software such as BarTender 2016 facilitates variable data printing.
Combining the Vortex 850R with a digital label finishing system (like the Scorpio Plus) turns it into a digital label press. This combination prints, laminates, die-cuts, removes the matrix, slits, and rewinds the printed labels onto finished rolls - all without paying for dies or tooling. The Vortex 850R can also be used as a pre-die cut label printer.
