Markets tumble as crude oil prices fall

Falling crude oil prices sent the markets tumbling to a sharply lower open with the Dow plummeting 159 points to 17,542. Nasdaq dropped 20 points to 5,046.

Axiom downgraded SunEdison (NYSE: SUNE) from a Hold rating to a Sell rating.


Derma Sciences (Nasdaq: DSCI) terminated its Phase 3 clinical trail of aclerastide to treat diabetic foot ulcers.


In the broad market, declining issues outpaced advancers by a margin of more than 4 to 1 on the NYSE and by nearly 4 to 1 on Nasdaq. The broader S&P 500 dropped 15 points to 2,059. Bitcoin climbed $25 to $328.
