US STOCKS SNAPSHOT-Wall St closes higher in volatile session

NEW YORK, July 7 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks ended a volatile session higher on Tuesday, with the S&P 500 recovering from a drop of more than 1 percent as energy shares gained alongside an afternoon rebound in crude oil prices.
