The basic aim of the tournament was to lay emphasis on team spirit, coordination and cooperation among children so that they not only learn to win the game but also emerge as winners in their future life. Observing Junior Pitch tournament’s popularity amongst the adolescents in recent years, the authorities have further planned to expand this initiative to other cities of India. This initiative was taken keeping in mind the belief that India is a reservoir of lots of hidden talent and it’s only when this hidden talent gets a chance to exhibit its potential, the country can truly advance as a nation.

In order to successfully apply for the tournament a school or an academy just needs to make sure that their players are under the age of 14 years (age as on January 1, 2016). The tournament doesn’t offer any relaxations of age to any participating member and strictly disqualifies teams if found with any member exceeding the age limit.
