Future Facilities Will Guide Data Center Operators on How to Predict Data Center Performance Problems During Session at Data Center World in Las Vegas

Future Facilities North America (Future Facilities NA), provider of engineering simulation software for data center design and operational planning, today announced that they will be presenting a technique for predicting the data center performance impact of IT workflow at the Data Center World Global Conference in Las Vegas.

Many data center operators assume that future IT related changes can be accommodated within their current infrastructures. In reality, blind faith in “best practices” is often the cause of performance problems that put the data center and thus the IT fulfillment process at risk.

On Monday, April 20th, Future Facilities’ Director Sherman Ikemoto will lead an interactive discussion titled A Data Center Simulator: Predict Performance Problems to Avoid Them, which will provide attendees with the tools they need to fully optimize their data center while mitigating risk and saving energy. In some cases, attendees will learn that they can reclaim lost data center capacity. Additionally, Mr. Ikemoto will explain the data center “ACE” (Availability, Capacity and Efficiency) Performance Score and how simulation provides visibility of ACE. To highlight the real world success of simulation, Mr. Ikemoto will also show attendees how a global bank is using a data center simulator to save over $1M per year in energy costs while increasing IT resilience and data center capacity.

In addition, on April 20th, Future Facilities’ Mark Seymour will lead a presentation titled Data Center Simulation: A Technique for Predicting Risk and Costs in Design. The session will focus on data center simulation, a technique widely used in data center design, to predict, project and quantify risk and costs incurred by data center roadmap changes. Real world examples will be highlighted.
