Warner Peacock appointed to JEDA Board

Local business owner chosen by South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley for next term
PRLog - Jan. 26, 2015 - HARDEEVILLE, S.C. -- S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley has appointed local business owner Warner Peacock to the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Jobs-Economic Development Authority (JEDA), subject to confirmation by the Senate this session. Mr. Peacock  is serving in the 1st Congressional District seat recently vacated by Sean McLernon and his interim appointment will expire in July 2015.

Gov. Haley has also nominated Mr. Peacock to serve on the JEDA board for the next term beginning in July 2015, contingent upon confirmation by the S.C. Senate.

“Warner Peacock is an accomplished businessman in multiple endeavors — including real estate, auto dealerships and community banking. His expertise and acumen are an ideal fit for JEDA and we appreciate his agreeing to join our board,” said JEDA Executive Director Harry A. Huntley, CPA.

Founded more than 30 years ago, JEDA promotes the business and economic welfare of South Carolina by assisting in the financing of public and private projects throughout state. JEDA serves as a statewide conduit issuer of special obligation revenue bonds and acts on behalf of the borrower to access financial markets and capital.

Since its creation in 1983, JEDA has facilitated the issuance of 459 bonds for over $8.6 billion and resulting in the creation and retention of more than 215,072 jobs.

“I feel that my many years experience in business in general, and more specifically for the past 10 years in banking and real estate, will help guide me in serving on this board,” said Mr. Peacock. “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to contribute to the efforts of bringing more jobs and businesses to our great state.”

Mr. Peacock is the President-CEO and Dealer Principal of New River Auto Mall, LLC, and its subsidiary dealership operating and real estate entities, including Audi Hilton Head, Hilton Head Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, Hilton Head Hyundai, Infiniti of Hilton Head, Jaguar Land Rover Hilton Head, Jaguar Land Rover Columbia, Hilton Head Mazda, Hilton Head Nissan, Hilton Head Volkswagen, Subaru of Hilton Head and Porsche of Hilton Head. New River Auto Mall, LLC, also owns the NRAM Collision Center, the Wellness Institute, New River Auto Mall Insurance and Southern Choice Insurance.

A retail automotive industry veteran, Mr. Peacock is also involved in the real estate business and is the President of First Team Properties and its subsidiaries. Mr. Peacock is also a current Board Member of the Floridian Financial Group (FFG), a bank holding company, and was a founding shareholder and former Chairman of the Board for Orange Bank of Florida, a former FFG Subsidiary.

Mr. Peacock, a native of Tallahassee, Fla., is a graduate of Florida Sate University’s College of Business with a major in Accounting. Currently a resident of Palmetto Bluff, he has been happily married for over 30 years and has two grown children. He enjoys working, golf and exercise.
