UPDATE 1-France fines household product firms $1.2 bln for price fixing

PARIS, Dec 18 (Reuters) - The French competition authority slapped fines worth 951 million euros ($1.2 billion) on personal hygiene and cleaning products makers on Thursday over price fixing in supermarkets between 2003 and 2006.
