PRLog - Dec. 8, 2014 - HAMPTON ROADS, Va. -- The Estate consists of Original Artwork of Local, Regional, Nationally and Internationally known Artists, Limited Edition Prints, Fine Furnishings, Antique Furnishings (including a museum quality Davenport), Jewelry, Vintage and Antique Firearms, Antique and Vintage Carved Decoys, Nautical Collectibles and Antiques. Other items to be sold include Vintage Arcade Games, Artifacts and Furnishings from the SS United States.
Dr. Forbes was known for her philanthropy to organizations including the Peninsula SPCA, the Boys & Girls Club, Riverside Hospital, The Mariner’s Museum, Christopher Newport University and others. She was a leader in the Virginia Academy of Medicine and The Newport News Chapter of the American Cancer Society. She received many humanitarian awards and honors based on her expertise, her care and concern for her patients, her love of animals and her community along with her interest in preserving history. She formerly owned the famed Windmill Restaurant in Nags Head furnished with artifacts from the SS United States. She developed the Warwick Medical Center in Newport News along with other Real Estate Investments.
