The NHTSA has introduced a more rigorous array of tests and standards for the 5-Star rating and include information regarding the performance of safety features and collision prevention technologies. Both the gas and hybrid models of the XV Crosstrek earned 4 stars in front crash testing, 5 stars in side crash tests, and 4 stars in the rollover testing, to receive an overall rating of 5 stars.
