The 5-Star Safety rating is the highest possible from the federal safety administration and applies to both the gas-powered and hybrid versions of the Subaru crossover
PRLog - Oct. 31, 2014 - HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- The big news at Subaru of Hilton Head, the premier Savannah area Subaru dealer, is the top safety rating that the 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek has received from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The 5-Star rating is the highest possible, and as it applies to both the standard gasoline-powered and hybrid versions of this outstanding crossover, Subaru appears well on their way to offering a line-up consisting of some of the safest vehicles on the road today.

A sporty, versatile, and fun-to-drive crossover SUV, the XV Crosstrek benefits from the addition of some new advanced safety technology for the 2015 edition. The highlight of the new safety tech is the Subaru EyeSight® driver assist system. EyeSight® is a suite of innovative crash prevention systems that include:

- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Lane Departure and Sway Warning
- Pre-Collision Braking
- Pre-Collision Throttle Management
- All-new Steering Responsive Fog Lights

While the EyeSight® technology provides the active safety systems that Lowcountry drivers want, the XV Crosstrek includes many other safety features that provide superior protection. Starting with improved cabin structure and its impact energy absorbing design, the Subaru crossover adds antilock brakes, stability and traction control, and a standard seven airbags, including a driver's knee airbag.

With the standard Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel drive, the XV Crosstrek keeps drivers in control no matter what the road or weather conditions. Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel drive is standard on all 2015 Subaru models except for the BRZ.

The NHTSA has introduced a more rigorous array of tests and standards for the 5-Star rating and include information regarding the performance of safety features and collision prevention technologies. Both the gas and hybrid models of the XV Crosstrek earned 4 stars in front crash testing, 5 stars in side crash tests, and 4 stars in the rollover testing, to receive an overall rating of 5 stars.

The 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek standard gas-powered model is expected to arrive soon at Subaru of Hilton Head, with the XV Crosstrek Hybrid model due shortly after in December. Contact their dealership for all of the details.
