Michael Baker International Expands North Carolina Planning Practice with New Environmental Expert

Michael Baker International is pleased to announce that William Rice II, CEI, has joined the Cary, North Carolina office as Environmental Planning Lead. In this role, Mr. Rice will use his extensive industry experience to expand the Company’s Planning Practice by identifying business opportunities and managing and delivering environmental services to clients. The addition of Mr. Rice to the Planning team will allow the North Carolina offices to leverage the breadth of the Company’s top tier environmental planning capabilities in the region and better determine new market opportunities.

Mr. Rice is a dynamic environmental planning leader with over 20 years of experience in developing and guiding domestic and international organizations, leading a diverse array of projects and programs, creatively solving problems, and developing new business. Most recently, Mr. Rice was the Environmental Planning Manager at Parsons Brinckerhoff, Inc. where he supervised and trained a team of planners on NEPA, SEPA, and the NEPA/Section 404 Merger Process. He was also responsible for managing multi-million dollar NEPA and SEPA projects and for all environmental and planning marketing and business development efforts with federal, state, and municipal clients.

Mr. Rice holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography/Urban Studies and a Master of Arts in Geography/Environmental Sciences from California State University at Fullerton. He is a Certified Environmental Inspector (CEI), a member of the American Planning Association (APA), and a member of the Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP).
