Nation’s Top Tax Practitioners Convene to Discuss Latest Tax Issues and Trends During UCLA Extension Annual Tax Controversy Institute Conference, Oct. 28

The Annual Tax Controversy Institute convened by UCLA Extension brings together some of the nation’s most experienced private and government tax practitioners in an open forum where the latest concerns and information are discussed – and debated – candidly like no other. Held on Tuesday, Oct. 28th, at the Beverly Hills Hotel, the one-day event marks the 30th anniversary of a high-level yet practical exchange on the most current and sensitive tax practice issues, policies, and strategies.

“We all share a concern for the accountability of both government and private practitioners to our system of tax administration and to the profession,” said Charles Rettig, Esq., Institute Chair, Principal, Hochman, Salkin, Rettig, Toscher & Perez, P.C. “Working together, we can continue to improve tax compliance within the taxpayer community, eliminate problems before they arise and enhance the reputation of the profession for credibility, integrity, and responsibility to others.”

The following are some of the very timely topics taking center stage at this year’s Tax Controversy Institute conference:

  • Effectively resolving an IRS audit
  • Seeking help from a taxpayer advocate
  • The IRS collection process
  • Defending taxpayer penalties

The conference is presented by UCLA Extension Business, Management & Legal Programs and approved for 7.5 hours of Minimum Continuing Legal Education credit by the State Bar of California and CPE units. Attendees can enroll here ($425 enrollment fee).
