Caterpillar avoided $2.4 billion in taxes: Levin

Caterpillar Inc. used a Switzerland-based affiliate to avoid paying $2.4 billion in U.S. taxes between 2000 and 2012, according to a report released Monday by Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations Chairman Carl Levin.
