New solution helps Accountable Care Organizations simplify the submission of their CMS required reporting in time for the quickly approaching deadline
PRLog - Mar. 5, 2014 - JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Orange Health Solutions (OHS) announces the release of its OrangePRO, a cloud-based tool designed in response to the GPRO Reporting requirements set forth by CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services)  for all Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) participants. As the deadline of March 21st quickly approaches, OHS has unveiled a simple and user-friendly platform that will assist Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) and easily  meet the reporting deadlines.

The Group Practice Reporting Option (GPRO) is the CMS required method for ACOs to submit the 22 quality reporting measures through the Physician Quality Reporting system (PQRS). An ACO cannot share in earned savings unless they have successfully reported the 33 ACO quality measures. Year 1 is dedicated just to reporting.  Year two and three measures must be met to earn PQRS incentive.

Group practices that satisfactorily report data on Physician Quality Reporting measures for assigned Medicare beneficiaries for 2013 are eligible to earn an incentive payment equal to 0.5% of the group practice's total estimated Medicare Part B Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) allowed charges for covered professional services furnished during the 2013 reporting period.  Eligible professionals (EPs) who do not satisfactorily report data on quality measures for covered professional services are subject to a payment adjustment beginning in 2015. EPs receiving a payment adjustment in 2015 will be paid 1.5% less than the MPFS amount for that service. For 2016 and subsequent years, the payment adjustment is 2.0%..

“ACOs are struggling with the CMS methodology and the tool to submit their measure data,” says OHS co-founder and President Nicole Bradberry. “Last year 40% failed to report, and that directly impacts their bottom line in the second and third years of their MSSP contract.  So we built a solution that makes the process easy.   We can have an ACO completely set up to report in only two days.”

OHS takes the data that CMS has already provided to the ACO on which patients and which of their measures require reporting, and they load the data into their cloud-based tool called OrangePRO.  Participating practices and physicians complete a simple on-line questionnaire.  For those ACO’s who also want to submit claims data, measures can be automatically closed and only those that cannot have to be manually updated into OrangePRO.  OrangePRO will automatically submit all data to CMS and report on compliance. OHS has made it easy.
