Class6ix Releases Update to Bring Tailored News Feeds to Your Television
PRLog - Feb. 24, 2014 - TWINSBURG, Ohio -- Personalized video news aggregation service Class6ix has announced the immediate availability of Chromecast support in their most recent Android app update.  Class6ix combines video news from high-quality national and local news outlets into a seamless, lean back viewing experience while leaving control in the hands of the user. As viewers watch or skip content, the service learns from this information to create a newscast customized to their specific interests.

With this release, Class6ix becomes only the second news app to hit the Chromecast and the first to offer video from multiple sources in one integrated newscast. Google began selling the inexpensive Chromecast device last year to allow for video and music to be easily streamed to virtually any television with an open HDMI port, but app support was limited to a few select partners. Earlier this month, Google officially opened its Cast SDK to all developers and invited them to develop new and innovative Chromecast applications.

"Our vision has always been to find ways to bring the personalized Class6ix experience to the television," shares Ted Cannelongo, co-founder of Class6ix. "When the Chromecast was first announced, we knew that it would be a perfect fit for our service and have been anxious to bring this functionality to our users. With the simple tap of a button, our viewers can start watching Class6ix on their TV while using their mobile devices as a remote and second screen."

Class6ix provides a streamlined interface that invites viewers to simply sit back and watch while offering the option to take greater control at any point to queue specific news stories of interest.

"Though video is increasingly being consumed through online services instead of through traditional channels, practical options for ‘cord cutters’ to access a wide array of news content have been almost nonexistent," adds Cannelongo. "Pairing the simplicity of our interface with the Chromecast’s ease of use creates a viable alternative for keeping up to speed on the news that matters to you."

Class6ix is available now as a free download through the Google Play Store.
