PRLog - Oct. 22, 2013 - SYDNEY, Australia -- The 12th annual Amber Affair is an evening to celebrate beer appreciation and mateship – all while supporting a great cause, Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick.
Held at the Argyle on Thursday October 24, the event is a chance to savour some great beers from some of the best boutique breweries in the country, as well as to raise much needed funds for the hospital.
In addition to the money raised through the ticket sales and generous donations on the night, a feature charity auction is expected to raise approximately $10,000. In total, it is expected that over $50,000 will be raised for the hospital.
Senior Manheim auctioneer, Marc Glekis, is kindly donating his time to auction off the assembled goodies. Located in Moorebank, Manheim is Sydney’s leading car auction centre and Marc can usually be found auctioning used vehicles every week to the general public.
Although more at home auctioning anything from a used car, a motorbike or even heading up one of the monthly truck and machinery auctions, Marc is a skilled auctioneer who has conducted many charity auctions over the years.
‘I am really pleased to be able to help out, supporting such a great cause which will raise vital funds for Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation. At our Manheim auctions we sell a few hundred used cars each week, but the auction on Thursday night will be short and sweet. In only twenty minutes we aim to raise over $10,000.”
Some of the goods on offer are sure to be of interest to the assembled guests. A Hunter Valley wine indulgence package will no doubt be keenly sought after, as will a luxury boat cruise on Sydney Harbour. Thrill seekers will have the chance to take a ride in a Red Bull stunt plane and some of the other items include a behind the scenes visit with Kyle and Jackie O and your very own Melbourne Cup function at the Argyle.
