Mobile Matchup: 'Speed Dating' for Businesses in Need of Mobile Dev Talent on March 13th

By: PRLog
PR Log - Mar 06, 2013 - Are you a SE Michigan business seeking a mobile development expert to assist you on a project, as an employee, or even as a partner/co-founder in your startup?  Or, are you a mobile developer seeking a unique and highly productive way to get your next project, full-time employment, or maybe even the opportunity to become a partner/co-founder in an existing or soon-to-exist startup?

If the answer to either question is yes, then ‘Mobile Matchup’ is a great way to find the perfect match to meet your needs!

“Mobile Matchup” is like ‘speed dating’, but instead of finding a dating opportunity, the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan (MTAM) is helping to facilitate connections between mobile developers and businesses. Each group will have the opportunity to meet potential matches in 5-minute conversations, and then connect afterward in open networking with those they want to explore in more detail.

The event takes place on Wednesday, March 13th at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Ann Arbor.  FREE appetizers will be provided by MTAM and co-sponsor, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, and there will be a cash bar. The event is FREE with advance registration at http://MobileMatchupA2.eventbrite.com by March 8th, but space is limited and filling up fast.  On-site registration for the event will be available for $10 if space is still open.

Event Schedule:

4:00     Class for Entrepreneurs "How to Work with a Mobile Developer to Take Your Mobile App from          Idea to Reality"
5:00     Doors open for Mobile Matchup
5:30     Keynote Address:  John Ellis, Global Head of the Ford Developer Program at Ford Motor          Company
6:00     Matchup begins, followed by open networking

MTAM and MEDC have partnered on this event which is planned to be the first in a series of Mobile Matchup events throughout the state.  This MTAM program aligns with MEDC state-wide initiatives focused on addressing the IT talent shortage issue in the state. Also supporting this program is the Michigan Council of Women in Technology (MCWT).

All of the organizations involved in this program understand that technology, and particularly mobile/wireless technologies, are  key to Michigan's economic resurgence, and that a significant way to facilitate this growth is by fostering connections between businesses and the state’s emerging mobile technology community. As a result of this shared vision, the organizations involved see this event as a perfect opportunity to advance relationships that will ultimately result in business opportunities.
