City Center Investment Corp Appoints COO

Veteran Real Estate Executive Jim Harbaugh Hired to Help Develop, Manage Major Mixed-Use Project in Dowtown Allentown, Pa.


City Center Investment Corp. announced today that former Bethlehem Steel Corp. and Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. real estate executive Jim Harbaugh will join the company as executive vice president and chief operating officer, effective immediately. The announcement was made by City Center Investment Corp. President J.B. Reilly.

In his new role, Harbaugh will be responsible for the overall management, strategic planning and operations of City Center Investment Corp., based in Allentown, Pa., as well as for leading the real estate development, acquisitions and leasing of the company’s major mixed-use project planned around Allentown’s Hamilton and 7th Streets. That venture, due for completion by 2015, will include up to 200 new residences, 250,000 square feet of new office space, 50,000 square feet of new retail space, and parking in the neighborhood of Allentown’s proposed hockey arena. City Center Investment Corp. is currently in negotiations with several potential commercial tenants for the complex to join existing tenants Wells Fargo bank, Lehigh Gas Corp., West Park Insurance and Risk Management, and State Sen. Pat Browne, R-Lehigh.

Harbaugh joins City Center Investment Corp. from Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. where he served as executive director of corporate real estate since 1994, with responsibility for strategies and transactions within the company’s global real estate portfolio, including M&A due diligence, acquisitions, divestitures, site selection decisions and leasing. Prior to that, he spent four years as president of his own consulting firm and 12 years in various positions in the real estate and finance divisions of Bethlehem Steel Corp. Harbaugh holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Ursinus College and a master's degree in business administration from Lehigh University.
